Tip #1 Remember when you are creating a blog, your blog URL must be similar to your website URL so that the reader notice the connection and also your blog description should likewise make mention of your website and what they can get when they visit it. Make sure that you post a link of your website on your profile page.

Tip #2 Try using a user name either by your real name or something distinctive to you website topic. This way the reader can recall what your website is about .

Tip #3 Use same keywords on your title as you have in your website. The content of your entries should also contain a brief paragraph connecting the post to your website, together with an invitation to visit your website.

Tip #4 Avoid acting like a tease, but don’t give away everything either. Give them more than a taste of what you have to offer through your blog entries, but if they want the whole package, make it clear they’d have to visit your website to get it.

Tip #5 Don’t forget to submit your blog to blog directories. Any chance that could increase the readership base of your blog also means a proportional increase for generating traffic to your website. Make sure you submit the same set of information for your blog to all blogging directories. It will help in improving your blog’s search engine ranking.

Tip #6 Make good use of trackbacks. If you are writing a post related to any of your previous entries, trackbacks will let readers easily locate those entries. Also, consider writing a series of posts. Instead of giving the whole cake in one sitting, feature one piece each post and have your readers come back next time for the succeeding pieces. The more time people spend on your blog, the greater chances you’ll have to convince them to visit your website.

Tip #7 Get a guestbook for people who have visited your website and blog. Post the link on your blog and make sure you get to approve entries before they’re displayed. The positive entries on your guestbook could help convince readers to visit your website, too.

Tip #8 Start circulating. If you post regular comments on other people’s blogs, they’ll usually return the favor. Readers from their blogs may use your link to visit your blog, too – if they like what you’re saying, that is. When they do then there’s also a chance they’d be interested in visiting your website.
